Superlative Exemplar finds itself in a difficult and enviable position at the moment. We have a great deal of interest in our guild for a number of reasons – our reputation as a group of friendly gamers more interested in people than gear – a higher profile since Kyek has become administrator of Imp’s Village forum and moderator on the official Dofus forums – our establishment as one of the longest successfully run guilds in this game. It is because we do care about people that we’ve come to this decision. First, our recruitment process can be quite lengthy as we get to know people and get a feel for how they’d fit with our dynamic. Not everyone who applies will become a member, but it takes time to get to know them to determine that.
Second, our members are all dedicated to helping us get to know people, yet when the majority of ingame time is spent trying to group with applicants, there becomes a recognizable problem with the system. Don’t get me wrong … we love to meet new people … we just can’t be fixated on it. The game is designed to require kama collection along with material gathering, fighting and yes, acquiring gear … so we do need to spend some of our game time on those endeavours as well.
Third, we really don’t like to dump new people into the purple chat and forget about them … our members want to get to know them better during group hunts and our daily business. This is what makes us the tight guild that we are.
We have enough new people in our guild at the present time to require us to spend some attention in this regard without feeling pressure to whittle down the applicant list. So … we’re sorry, but we are unable to be take new applicants at this time.
If you are on the applicant list prior to today’s date, please expect a response from us. It is still our intention to meet you and potentially offer you an invitation.
Once we do all that, we will find ourselves with a full guild, so you can expect to see the “Recruitment Closed” sign up for quite a lengthy time.
